Welcome to my pansy garden today for Tablescape Thursday - hosted every Thursday by the very gracious Susan of "Between Naps on the Porch".
My pansies are really feeling the heat - they do much better in cooler weather, so this is probably about the end for this season until fall. However I've set a cheerful table today with the last pansies of spring.
As always, there's a place set just for you. Let's see what's on the table today.
Pansy bread and butter plates with silver spreaders.
I bought these amethyst glasses about 20 years ago -- and I believe they came from Walmart.
A peek at the layers of dishes along with the silverware that came from my husband's family.
Plain white hotel napkins came from Marshall's last year and the napkin rings were found at an antique store last year as well.
This little flat bowl that contains floating pansies and a votive was my grandmother's.
My favorite color combination for the table is usually pink and green, but I've found myself attracted to a lot of the purple and green tables I've seen on TT lately. I found these pansy salad dishes for a bargain on eBay and for $3.99 and no extra shipping cost the seller also included the four matching bread and butter plates. What a sweet little set.
This is the marking on the back, but I don't know anything about them.
I found these green plates at the end of last summer for 75% off at Cracker Barrel.
White dishes from Big Lots last summer.
I posted a couple of weeks ago about this vintage tablecloth that I found on eBay.
A closer look at the pansy bouquet on the dishes.
A look at the real pansies from my yard. Don't they have sweet little "faces"?

Overview of the centerpiece.
So glad that you could join me this week. For lots of dish inspirations, be sure to visit "Between Naps on the Porch" where you're sure to find a table set just for you! I'm having a hard time catching up with everyone since we were out of town for a long weekend last week and in a couple of days we're going out of town again for our nephews wedding at Berry Hill Plantation in South Boston, VA. I'll be trying to catch up when we get back when I can take the time for a good visit!
See ya!

What a lovely tribute to the pansy! Those napkins rings are my favorite -- what a find! The amethyst glasses are perfect with all your pansy elements.
ReplyDeleteI love your pansy table -- but I love pansies. What delightful things -- the dishes, the tablecloth and of course, the real pansies. Ours on the prairie are suffering as well -- but I've managed to candy a few to decorate cupcakes and cakes until fall.
ReplyDeletePansies are my favorite. The Pansy dishes are amazing! And I love the tablecloth!

ReplyDeleteA sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm. Just popped over from Tablescape Thursday and had to comment on your pansies. They look so dainty and pretty with your green and white plates. And I love that vintage tablecloth - everything came together so nicely. Thanks for sharing! Ciao, bella!
ReplyDeleteMartha, what a pretty pansy tablescape...love the vintage tablecloth. The pansy dishes are really pretty and really show up so nicely off the green salad plate. You mean to tell us, you found someone with free shipping on e-Bay? That is one of the main reasons I hate buying there, the shipping is ridiculously high!
ReplyDeleteMy pansies are gone for the year so it was extra nice seeing yours.
