It's time to set the table again for Tablescape Thursday. This week has been a busy one of decking the halls, so my table is a bit more simple than usual.
Come and have a seat at my "Signs of Christmas" table, you know I always set a place just for you.
An over view of the table.
Overview of the centerpiece.
Love the trees on the dishes with the tree in my dining room.
A view from the other side.
I know that I've had this same tablecloth for the past three weeks and I promise I'll change it next week -- but I do love the lace cascade (Thanks Karen!)
My first sign of Christmas on the table is the wreath and red candle -- very traditional for our Christmas table when I was growing up, how about yours? Nothing prettier on a door than an evergreen wreath with a big red bow.
This is my favorite kind of snow...faux! We had a pretty little dusting on Saturday - very lovely and then gone by lunchtime...just the way I like it.
Johnson Brothers Christmas dishes were purchased last year from Marshall's -- I saw them again this year as well. Love the Christmas trees ---the second sign of Christmas on my table today.
Green glass chargers came from a trip to Virginia Beach in 2009.
Target flatwear from a couple of years ago.
I purchased these cream damask napkins last year from eBay -- the red silk poinsettias (the third sign of Christmas) were from Target's Christmas ornament section this year. They have clips on the back. I tied ribbon around the napkins and clipped the flowers on. $1 each.
I found these red glasses last year at a Christmas open house at a local antique store.
I found these wine glasses at GoodWill a few months ago and I was really surprised when....
.....I purchased this magazine last month and opened it up only to see....
....the exact same etched wine glasses! (now if I could only find that decantur too!)
Time to light the candle, and enjoy a rest from all the hustle and bustle of Christmas. How about you? I hope you'll visit Susan of "Between Naps on the Porch" to see signs the Christmas season on tabletops all over blogland.
See ya!
Beautiful....as always! I always enjoy coming over to see what you have done with your table. Funny thing is, I'm setting my table with those same dishes tonight only I got mine from TJM! I bet you were excited to see your glasses in that magazine. The fun part will be searching for the decantur.

ReplyDeleteHello Martha,
ReplyDeletelovely Christmas table. I like the traditional red and green and the Christmas plates are very nice in that colors, also. The lace runner is a real tresure and the glasses are really magazine worthy. I love also your tree, looks really adorable. And what a stunning collection of Santas and Nutcrackers you have, whow. The nativity scene has wonderful figurines.
Greetings, Johanna
How I adore those J.B. plates! I think I'd get rid of some of the Christmas plates I have if someone would buy me a set of those. Your table and your d.r. look beautiful. How pretty! Love your simple & elegant hurricane centerpiece, red glass goblets and charming Christmas dishes =) Your Santa mugs made me smile ~ I remember having something similar as a child. I used it to dunk my moms delicious home made cookies in... usually on Christmas eve while watching the Yule Log burn on Ch. 11 up in New Jersey...
ReplyDeleteGood times...
Thanks for sharing and for the memories.
