Now I wouldn't admit this to everyone....but this year I've started my Christmas decorating....with setting the table. Most people hang the lights, the wreath on the door and put up the tree....not me! I'm starting with the dishes!
What could be a more delightful way to start Christmas than Breakfast with Santa!
I've layered one of my Christmas cloths over a plaid one.
Sorry about the glare....I was late getting started this evening. Please join us.
Looks like quite a gathering of Santas on the table.
Each year I add another Santa mug to my collection.
They're all different.
A few are antique (like me)...but none of the ones on the table today.
I believe all of these have been found over the years at Goodwill. Perfect for some hot cocoa.
I found these Santa candy dishes at CVS a couple of years ago. They're perfect for a breakfast muffin....or perhaps some cut fruit.
White salad plates....perfect for a stack of pancakes. When our kids were in high school....their choral groups always did a Santa Breakfast as a fundraiser. The little ones were always so cute. Now I have four grandgirls of my own....wouldn't they have a fun time at this Santa table.
Target flatware.
Pewter Santa napkin rings.
A view from Santa's sleigh.
And now for our guests of honor...
.....making a list....
....checking it twice.....
.....gonna find out.....
....who's naughty....
...who's nice!
Hope you'll have a chance to stop by "Between Naps on the Porch" to see all the pretty tablescapes hosted each week by Susan....I'm pretty sure she's ALWAYS on the nice list!
See ya!
Martha,
ReplyDeletethose santa mugs and plates are so sweet.. what a festive Happy table you've set. I know anyone who's invited will be Smiling.

ReplyDeleteHeck, YES, your granddaughters would have a blast at that table!!! The parade of Santas is so cute...how could they resist? :-) I completely understand you starting your decorating with a table. I did the same thing for the most part. It just seems like a much less demanding way to ease into it all. But now we have to get crack-a-lackin', Martha! You and me...this weekend...let's do it!!! I'll check back with you next week! :-) Have a fun weekend!!!

Morning Martha,
ReplyDeletewhat an adorable table you have here, anyone would have fun sitting at this table. So cute
and Clever! That was a good idea to start with the table, cause I find sometimes as I amdecorating I think certain pcs. would make such a cute tablescape, but once I get the house all done I don't want to undo it to make a tablescape with it!! Only if I am desperate!! lol
Blessings for a Wonderful Christmas Season,
Nellie

I love the Santa table. I have four of those santa face mugs. Two were my brothers and mine and the other two I have picked up over the years for my kids. I used to have 5, but broke one last year. I have to say the green table cloth over the plaid one was a real dramatic effect. I loved it. Have a great week my friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a festive Christmas tablescape, Martha! Love the Santa colletion in the centerpiece!Enjoy your Sunday!...hugs...Debbie

The napkin rings are wonderful! I have so few napkin rings. We never used them before tablescaping and in fact, we don't really use them now! I look at them in stores, but they tend to be so expensive. Our Goodwill is large, almost new and has just junk.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you layered the solid over the plaid. It is very "Christmasy" and yet unique. Your Santas are darling and the candy really adds to the look!
I always start with my pyramid of Santa mugs and then a tablescape, too! Great minds must think alike. Thank you for inviting us for a peak at your wonderful Christmas treasures. Cherry Kay
