Snow Tree

I'm usually the one who takes down the Christmas decor and has it all packed away by New Year's Day.  But this year I decided to make my smaller Christmas tree into a Winter Snow tree and enjoy it even longer.

It's filled with white lights and snowflakes -- some are the white plastic ones...

I've also got white candles and some old fashioned children playing in the snow.

Of course lots of snowmen.

Love the crocheted snowflakes that one of my dad's cousins always gave us at family reunions.

Found these tiny flakes in a vintage thrift store years ago.

How about your house?  Do you leave your tree up? Redecorate it for winter or Valentine's?  After Christmas do your snowpeople stay and play?  I just wonder what took me so long to do this.

See ya!

  1. I usually decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving and am ready to get everything packed up by the weekend after Christmas. Your tree is beautiful and looks like a "winter" tree with all your white lights and snowflakes...so pretty!
Hope you have a great weekend,

  2. Your Winter tree looks so pretty , snowflakes and all. I am amazed how many bloggers have left some of their Christmas decor out. I guess, being Winter, it's still time for snowflakes.

  3. My tree comes down right after New Year's but if I would to keep it up this would definitely be a great idea! Blessings, Tammy

  4. Hi Martha! Oh, your wintry tree is so cute! Love it.
You know what? The rice and chicken broth is exactly what the vet told me to fix for Chloe Dawn. Poor little fuzzy face!
Thanks for popping in to see me.

  7. What a great idea - a snow tree! I did not put up a traditional tree this year but I have a large silk fig tree decorated with a string of small clear lights in the corner of my living room which comes on every evening on a timer. I love the tiny sparkling lights and sometimes just sit in there with only those lights on. I can understand why you kept your tree up so long. Enjoy!

    Have a great week!
