November Calendar Inspiration Tablescape

I'm almost at the end of my Lang Calendar that I've been using for tablescape inspiration this year.  Here's the inspiration picture for November.

Welcome to my November table full of pumpkins and corn.....now some things are a little different from the picture....but that's the beauty of "inspiration".....it doesn't have to be an exact duplicate.....just going for the same "feel".

I don't have a pretty little low sided metal bucket like the picture.....but I do have a hammered aluminum tray.......

....so I went about gathering pumpkins for my tray.....and pumpkin plates for the table.

Sorry for the glare.....the day I set this table was rainy so I had to turn on the light.  These pumpkin plates came from Walmart last year.  The plaid napkins came from the Yankee Candle store a couple of years ago.

I pulled out my vintage green goblets......one of these days I may find some pretty amber stems....but I don't know where on earth I would store them!  I'm all out of storage and cubby spots!

 An overview of the centerpiece....pumpkins.....leaves....corn....gourds....acorns.

A look from the "other" side.

I found these acorns that look real in Michaels a few weeks ago.

I decided that the bamboo flatware was the choice for this casual table.

                                           Tabletop overview.

                                        I do love the colors.....

                               .........and the scents of autumn......

                                       .....how about you?

                                  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

                                 See ya!

  2. I forgot you were doing that with the calendar! I like your version of the inspiration just fine! I agree it doesn't have to match- just be inspiring enough to start something! The hammered metal tray was an excellent starting point! The pumpkins and corn gathered on it looks great! Those are great pumpkin dishes you found! Looks like you are all set! Have a great Thanksgiving!

  3. Whaddya mean you wouldn't know where to store them??!??! Come to my house, and I'll teach you the fine art of "mobster storage." Don't ask, don't tell. ;-) You did a great job of capturing the essence of the calendar picture! That's what it's all about! I like the texture of your tablecloth, too. So you're just about at the end of your calendar. Can't wait to see what next year's inspiration will be! Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Martha!

  4. Behind the books in the bookshelf. I have one shelf of green stems, one shelf of blue stems, one shelf of red stems, on shelf of amber stem. In the garage is the box of 24 dollar tree crystal. I bet if I came over your storage capacity would amaze me! LOL.. I love that you have used the calendar to be your inspiration. Sometimes I think I am all out of ideas. Your table and the calendar page are perfect together. Love your napkins.. The harvest centerpiece is lovely.. great job.. xo marlis

  6. Martha, your centerpiece is sure the star of this table. I love all of your naturals and those gourds are fabulous! I think your inspiration photo was perfect. Those are such fun salad plates, they look straight out of the calendar.

  7. Hi Martha, I love that you use your Lang calendar for inspiration. That is a great idea. Your centerpiece looks so pretty and I love those Wal Mart pumpkin plates. The vintage green are perfect on the table with the yellow flatware.

  8. Great table, Martha! I have really enjoyed seeing you translate your inspirational calender photos into beautiful tables each month! I also think I "need" some amber glasses, but really would have to scramble to find a spot to store them! Plus, I keep thinking that it's about time for me to start divesting my collection, not adding to it!

  9. Loved this one...your tables make me want to be a better homemaker. I actually put a table together for fall...even though yours are so much better. I will post it this weekend. :-) That way you can see how your apprentice is grasping the concept of tablescapes.
