Hooray for the Red, White and Blue!

It's no secret that I LOVE the 4th of July!  I always have....so I invite you to join me.....

....at my star spangled table.

I found these cute little bowls at the dollarish spot at Target this year...

I found four different styles

Just perfect for.....

those red, white and blue holidays.

Michaels had these red and blue pinwheel straws this year.  I took one to work and when I take it to the kitchen to fill my glass with water, while I'm walking it spins around and makes me smile......yes, I'm easily amused.

We always had sparklers growing up as part of our celebration....so they became part of my centerpiece along with Lady Liberty.....

....I love this vase I found last year....perfect for holding flags.....

.....my little wooden Uncle Sam.....

....this year's Sam from Michaels at 50% off.
How about a view from the flagpole?
....so what are you doing for the 4th?
Wishing you a safe and wonderful 4th of July!  Here's a few tables from years past.

An "old fashioned" 4th from 2010

...a tabletop parade from 2011.....
....evidently I have a thing for pinwheels - July 2012

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful 4th of July!  We're grateful to have electricity when so many still are days away from being restored.  I found inspiration for my holiday table from an old Lang calendar I've been working with for the past few months.  This seemed perfect for the 4th of July in the Mid-Atlantic.  Red, white and blue and shells.

I didn't have a patriotic pail like the drawing....but I substituted this wooden box with a handle.  I used some oasis in the box, stuck in the flags and pinwheels and topped it with shells.

It made a fun centerpiece for our 4th of July table.

Won't you join us for: barbeque, cole slaw, cut melons, sliced tomatoes, cucumber salad, iced tea and pound cake with berries and ice-cream for dessert!

Red rimmed transferware plates over white charger plates and a navy blue napkin embroidered with a star.

A "rim shot" of the dishes.

My shell flatware seemed to fit right in.

Flag napkins in blue goblets.

One more look at the Mid-Atlantic 4th of July tablescape.

Keelyn and Kendall are all smiles for the Red, White and Blue (and a little pink just for good measure!)

4th of July Tablescape

I love holidays and the 4th of July is one of my favorites! We had already celebrated earlier with our family and Mr. Mid-Atlantic and I both had colds so we just stayed at home this year....We had terrible thunderstorms around here so all the fireworks displays were rained out anyway.....but, I still had fun decorating and setting the table....just for you!

Before the rain started I got some outdoor pictures of my garden flag.....

....and these cute little tin firecrackers for the yard.

I found these at "Through the Garden Gate", one of my favorite local antique, vintage and "what-not" stores.

....I may just leave them up all July.

My little Spunky Man is ready to greet you at the door.

A couple of flags in my door arrangement.

Welcome to our red, white and blue table!

Red, white and blue checked cloth layered over a red one.

Come and have a seat....our menu for our celebration was hot dogs, hamburgers, bbq, corn bread, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, Paula Deen Ooey, gooey cake topped with strawberries, blueberries and cool whip with plenty of iced tea (sweet and un-sweet).

Plates are topped with a paper flag napkin found at Tuesday Morning.

Red salad plates from several years ago - Marshall's.

Red Johnson Brothers transferware -- Strawberry Fair. These belonged to my in-laws.

With my two napkin rule (paper for the mouth, cloth for the lap) - the navy blue napkin with a white star was purchased a couple of years ago at Kohls.

Shell everyday stainless flatware.

red antique goblets.

Antique Betsy Ross postcard.

Wooden stars from Kohls many years ago.

I found three of these (only two designs) at Through The Garden Gate.

I believe this little drum came from Peebles about 10 years ago.

A patriotic nutcracker from my collection.

I've had this patriotic rooster forever too.

The other design on this cute little card/ornament.

It's kind of hard to see, but this is The Statue of Liberty. Antique store several years ago.

overview of the table.

Tip top view of the centerpieces.

One last look --- I sort of put everything patriotic I had on the table....these things will be split up and placed in several places around for the rest of July. I try to keep them out all month.

And lastly a little picture hanging in my kitchen that says, "I'm proud to be an American"......hope you had a wonderful Independence day gathered around tables and backyards, porches and pools with those you love, thankful for our freedoms and liberties! Hooray for the red, white and blue!

I hope you'll get the chance to visit Susan at "Between Naps on the Porch" to see all the tablesettings this week. There's sure to lots of inspiration and ideas for your next gathering. Congratulations Susan for 150 weeks of hosting tablescapes!

See ya!
