Tabletop Tuesday - Bridal Shower

Marty is so sweet with hostessing "Tabletop Tuesday" each week. I love seeing what everyone does to create those special little spots that make a house a home. So much good inspiration! My daughter and I gave a bridal shower this past weekend and it was fun to create a little tabletop ambiance.

My washstand filled with "Best Wishes" for our beautiful bride to be.

This small cloche holds a vintage invitation to a bridal shower from long ago. I purchased this from eBay for $2. It does make me wonder about the special day for the bride who's invitation this was in the first place-- I'm guessing this was from the 50's -- it just has that look to me.

Look at our sweet little bride with her umbrella inviting you to a shower. As the upcoming wedding will be outside, I hope there will be no rain showers on June 12th. Both of my children had outdoor weddings -- weather adds a whole new element of nervousness to the planning, but I will say both weddings were absolutely beautiful.

A couple of years ago I bought this little silver tray from Goodwill for a couple of bucks and painted it with chalkboard paint - it's always fun for greetings of the day. A wonderful idea I discovered through blogging.

A tiny glass basket holding a small white hydrangea blossom.

The apothacary jar contains a wedding cake topper I purchased about 11 years ago from Michael's for another bridal brunch -- it's been used for several showers since.

A closer view of the wedding couple.

I found this veil at Goodwill a couple of weeks ago for $4.50. I didn't get it at first, but kept thinking about it and went back, glad that it was still there. With four grandgirls, I'll bet this will be fun for "dress up" days - don't you think? It looks like "vintage" 80's to me! The black wreath holder came from Garden Ridge back when our daughter was married - we had four of these with tulle, pink roses and ribbons on either side of the "isle" that she walked up to meet her groom in 2005.

Two framed pictures -- the larger is a vintage inspired card. The small frame contains a picture of our wedding couple that was on their "Save the date" announcement. Vintage white gloves and my pearls added to the wedding look.

Aren't they such a cute couple?

One more shot of the full effect.

A picture of our glowing bride to be. Looking forward to celebrating this happy occasion coming up soon!

See ya!

  1. Hi Martha! What a beautiful bride Becky will be. She's so beautiful. What a wonderful you are! This looks so pretty and look at that veil! How fortunate to find it. When my daughter got married, I made hers. They were so expensive to just buy one.
Everything you've done for the shower has been awesome.

  3. Love that veil and your chalkboard silver tray! How did you tape that off so it just sprayed the middle? I bought two at the dollar store and I wanted to do the same, but got frustrated trying to tape the edges off.

  4. What a beautiful bride to be! I love what you did - very meaningful arrangements. I painted one of those silver/chalkboard trays and I had trouble where the white paint meets the chalboard paint. I used spray paint and tried to get a neat edge, but wasn't very successful. Yours looks great. What did you do? Linda

That vintage b/g card in the frame next to the honorees is so pretty. And how cute is that shower invitation under the cloche! I know the happy couple was so pleased and honored to have such a thoughtful hostess for their shower. laurie

  12. I'm still trying to catch up on the Tabletops, seems they kinda get lost in all the other parties. I don't seem to get as many comments on it.

Thanks for letting us see the pretty bride-to-be as well!
