My table is set for two this week. After all the hustle and bustle of decorating, shopping and wrapping.... I thought it would be nice just to have a quiet romantic evening for my husband and me. Our 34th anniversary was on Thanksgiving day this year - so we had quite a celebration of 16 -- but with all the holiday activity that followed, we never got around to having a nice "just us two" kind of celebration.
I don't know why I seem to prefer my tablecloths "catty-cornered" -- but it just appeals to me. This cloth came from Walmart about 12 years ago. I use it every year and I love the vintage sort of look.
A cherub and candles make up our off-centered piece. Once again, I'm sorry for the darkness of these photos -- it seems that I can't get my pictures taken during daylight with the shorter days and we're having such rainy weekends!
I had planned to gather some holly and ivy from my yard, but it was raining and too wet. So I used this faux ice covered holly.
Coming in a little closer -- I found the Lenox candlesticks at Goodwill this Fall. I think they were about $2.50 for both.
This sweet angel also came from Goodwill this Fall. He evidently skinned his little nose, but it's not really noticable unless you're really close. Sometimes it's hard to get the hang of flying and you can see, he's just a little fella.
I love this silver tray I found last Summer at Goodwill and you can see some vintage ornaments that were my husband's grandmothers. You can also see the frost on the holly.

The etched wine glasses were from my husband's grandmother. The red goblets were from an antique store this year. They were having a holiday open house and I went a day early -- I know I didn't get the best prices, but I did get the best selection. I think I paid $30 for six glasses.
Antique lace napkins same as last week. The silver was from my mother-in-law -- little bags from the local craft store.
Let's take a look at the layers -- red bowls were purchased last year from e-bay.
I've had my holly dishes for years -- they're Gibson china -- I bought one set of 4 and have picked up extra placesettings from e-bay and Goodwill.

These are the same chargers as last week -- these were picked up on sale at The Ragged Robin store in Virginia Beach this fall -- I was able to get 6 for $4 each.
