Isn't Susan the most wonderful hostess inviting us to play along for Tablescape Thursday week after week? This week I'm getting my Irish St. Patrick's Day table ready a bit early. Our daughter asks for a corned beef and cabbage dinner each year for her birthday on March 14th. So we celebrate just a wee bit early.

I've set a place for you -- come and join our celebration!
A bit of Irish fun for the centerpiece. I started with my largest round white (edged) platter and covered it with some dried moss from the craft store. Then I gathered some St. Patrick's "artifacts".
I wonder what this cute little leprechaun is day-dreaming about?
It must be all his gold coins that he has hidden inside this mushroom.....Hey! I thought it was a "pot of gold" not a "mushroom of gold"! Clever little fella - isn't he?
We start out with a little Church in our Irish village centerpiece -- (actually this is a Scottish Church.....shhhhh....don't tell!)
Next we have a little David Winter cottage -- Actually this is probably an English cottage......Oh well.....close enough!

Glasses for our Irish beverages -- green iced tea (sweet --from "southern" Ireland) and Irish coffee with dessert.
I put my mugs in my vintage coasters with spoon rests.
Let's look at a place setting layer by layer. First we have some Irish linen napkins layered over dark olive green damask napkins. "Tied" up with a white bow napkin ring.
Next we have luncheon sized plates with a little Irish looking cottage. I found these at Marshall's right around Christmas and immediately thought "Perfect for St. Patrick's Day!"
Our charger plate is a green glass plate I found at the end of Summer at Cracker Barrel. They're heavy and were 75% off! Gotta love a sale!
I found these big old cabbage leaves ($3.99)at a local craft store. A fun touch of whimsey for a corned beef and cabbage dinner. They'll also be used in some Spring/Easter decorating. Target flatware from the clearance bin last summer.
