April Tulips Tablescape

I've been going to my old Lang calendar for the past few months to get tablescaping inspirations.  This was the April picture from 2010.  So for this week, I've set an April Tulips table.

Welcome to our Spring table.

Won't you join me?

A look at the layers.  Plain white dinner plates over scalloped chargers -- two hot pink and two orange.

A sheer orange gingham topper over a white tablecloth.

I decided to use these dragonfly napkin rings from Pier One...instead of the butterfly on the calendar.

Etched stems.

A closer look at our elegant tulips cascading across the table.

I think the picture shows the flowers in a jar....so this mason jar serves as a casual vase.

Tabletop view.

Loved these ruffled tulips.

A look at the overlay of the tablecloths.

The "stars" of the table.

Don't you love the colors of tulips in the Spring?  I've had fun creating tables that match my old calendar.  You never know where a bit of inspiration can strike.

I'm joining Kathleen at her "Lets Dish" for Earth day. And Susan at "Between Naps on the Porch" for Tablescape Thursday.

See Ya!

Easter Fluffings

It's been awhile since I joined Tabletop Tuesday.  I thought I would jump in this week with a bit of Easter "fluffing" -- some tabletop and some not.  We will start with my sideboard.

This little bunny was found a few years ago at Goodwill I believe.

I actually found these lambs right before Christmas at a local antique and whatnot store --- neither of these are antiques but do have that "vintage" look.

This was another bunny I found at Goodwill -- different weeks and different makers as well....but they just looked like they belonged together to me.

Now on to the great room - side table with a bit of Easter.

I fell in love with this pretty hand carved and painted bunny a few years ago -- he was found at a thrift store.

Sorry for the blur -- my photos are sort of random like that.  Anyway this egg was from the dollar store a few years back.  I can't remember where I got the little china cabbage leaf it's set upon.

Spring on the mantle -- this will stay until I "redress" it for summer.

Atop the antique Victrola

On to the powder room.

The birdhouses stay all spring --- I just added the pink shred and some bunnies, chicks and eggs.....

....for my Easter fluffing.

A little bit of Spring.

This door basket needs a bit more fluffing....not too thrilled at how it turned out....I'll have to fill it a bit more next year.

Washstand greetings.

This cute bunny came from Cracker Barrel a couple of years ago?  Or maybe it was just last year......I made myself stay away this year.....Just didn't want the temptation, but I'm sure they were full of Easter cuteness!

Four White House Easter eggs 2009-2012.

And I couldn't resist one photo of our grandtwins at the flower cross.
We had a beautiful and blessed Easter....Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.

See Ya!

Tabletop Tuesday - Mother's Day & Spring

It's been awhile since I've participated in Tabletop Tuesday. This weekend I packed up the Easter decorations and decided that I wasn't quite ready to bring out the Summer beachy decor. I re-arranged here and there and brought in some Mother's Day items too.

Let's see what's on the washstand. Sorry that I couldn't get a picture until after it was dark.

This lacy bonnet was my mother's. I'm not sure if she wore it or if it was for a baby doll.

A little tarnished baby spoon.

Greetings from my silver tray chalkboard.

Sweet little baby shoes and a silver baby doll cup that was also my mother's.

Old fashioned baby buggy.

Bird's nest and bird nestled in my apothecary jar. I left the springy paper shred from Easter.

A touch of Spring on the sideboard.

I found this basket at one of my favorite antique shops "Through The Garden Gate" this weekend.

These birds and nest were found last year. I added an antique lace napkin and some greenery.

A small bluebird platter. I just love this old china pattern.

Antique post card of children playing outside.

A bit of spring in this picture too. Don't you love the birds and nests full of eggs? All the signs of new life for Spring.

Spring topiery and bunnies in the kitchen.

The bunnies remind me of our daughter and her twin girls. Such a good mommy she is!

Another little nest tucked into the ivy.

I know a mantle doesn't count as a tabletop....but I'm pretty sure that Marty won't mind.

I loved changing from my darker colors of winter to the lighter look of the greens and whites.

Yes -- another bird's nest!

These two bunnies weren't quite ready to be packed away.

I found the pair of topieries at Pier 1.

A Spring welcome from the mantle and a Happy Mother's Day to all my blogging friends.

Thanks Marty, for hosting Tabletop Tuesday every week. Be sure to check them out over at "A Stroll Thru Life"

See ya!
