Easter Bunny Brunch

Earlier in the week I shared a simple Easter table.  Today I share the table set for our grandtwins and our Easter Bunny Brunch.

Table all set and ready for our visitors.  I love that now when our 3 year old grandgirls come over they always check out the tablescape to see what it will look like.  And they don't miss a thing either!

Each place was set for a fun Bunny Brunch.

I always have two napkins for each placesetting.  Cloth for the lap and paper for the mouth.  So Mr. Bunny is peeking through the juice glasses.

I've used this Easter tablecloth since my kids were young.  I've always loved the bright eggs.

I found this moss bunny last year at Cracker Barrel -- my daughter calls him the "lawn ornament" bunny.  That's fine, because as you can see, he's all fenced in with my little picket fence.

Along with a couple of sheep I found last year at Pier 1.  The eggs were purchased a couple of years ago at either Marshall's or Tuesday Morning.

These napkin rings were the only new purchase for the table.  They hopped into my basket at Kohl's.

Egg cups holding little chocolate bunnies, "umbrella" carrots and mini Cadbury eggs (of course).

The salad plates came from Cracker Barrel a couple of years ago.  My everyday dinner plates serve as chargers and I "borrowed" the idea of making my woven placemats a bit more festive by adding the colored paper "grass" from Miss Janice.  Sort of gives that Easter basket look don't you think?

And now, on to the food!
Fresh cut fruit....

hot cross buns......

breakfast casserole and hash brown casserole....

mini granola, Greek yogert and fresh fruit parfaits, and a peek at the mini red velvet cupcakes.  I think our Bunny Brunch got......

the bunny approval from these two little cuties!

Wishing you each a wonderful Easter with family and loved ones gathered around your tables.....and perhaps even a bunny or two!

See ya!

Dogwood tablescape

I love the dogwoods that bloom every spring.  The first Mother's Day after we moved into this house, my husband planted a dogwood tree and we've enjoyed it every spring since 1993.
Won't you join me at this simple Easter setting?

I found this vintage tablecloth a couple of years ago at an antique store out of town.  Last year I waited too long to use it for a tablescape and the blooms were gone.

Last year I found these delicate goblets with cut flower designs.

My layers of dishes include a white dinner plate.

White chargers from Pier 1.

And small green depression glass plates.

These sweet pink bud napkin rings were the perfect spring touch for the green napkins with a white organdy napkin layered on top.

A closer look at the dogwood patterned tablecloth

I added some pink azalea blooms to the dogwoods.  When you look closely you can see the holes caused by the inchworm infestation we've had this year.

Blooms gathered into a glass basket vase.

Baby bunnies hiding under the blooms.

I hope you've enjoyed this simply set Easter table.

I'll be sharing another Easter tablescape later this weekend.  We'll be having a brunch and egg hunt on Saturday with our daughters family.  That will be set with our grandtwins in mind.

See ya!

Butterfly Tablescape

Once again I looked to my old 2010 Lang calendar for tablescaping inspiration and the March picture was full of butterflies.
So for this last week in March I have set a butterfly themed table.
Here's a place set just for you.
The centerpiece is a filled with butterflies.  I found these huge ones full of spring color at a local craft store.
They're made of painted feathers and are attached to brightly glittered bodies.
I also found these placemats at one of the local vintage stores and they are full of spring butterflies......
......peeking out from behind the plates and under the forks.....
....and the perfect compliment to these butterfly napkin rings.  Actually the smaller butterflies were also found at the same craft store.  They were already attached to small clips that I easily clipped onto some plain white napkin rings.  They would be pretty on sheer ribbon bows as well.
I found these pink cabbage salad plates a couple of years ago on ebay.  I've enjoyed the bamboo flatwear for a couple of years as well.  I've also seen the bamboo in black and green on other blogs, but alas, I've never run across any in my local stores.....I'm still on the look out though.  Bamboo is very versatile.
The dinner plates I've selected are very pale pink glass plates with cabbage roses etched into the centers.  This picture also shows some of the fun butterflies and flowers on the placemats.
Who doesn't love a cute pink ladybug?
There are also a couple of ladybugs on the basket holding the centerpiece.
A close up of one of the giant butterflies.

Aren't they pretty for a Spring setting?

Wishing you beautiful spring days filled with butterflies and sunshine.

See ya!

Happy Things

Special celebrations make me happy --- being able to enjoy our daughter's birthday with her family.  Her dad always makes her favorite St. Patrick's dinner since her birthday is so close --- March 14th.

Just a bit of whimsey makes me smile.  (and a few chocolate coins too!)

Grandtwins who are "best freinds"

Partying with "the girls"!

A long awaited graduation day!

Proud of our daughter for winning a very special award.

Getting her nursing pin!

Taking her oath with her class.

Seeing how proud her daughters were to see their Mama graduate.

Sharing special times with family.  (Sorry I cut off the top of the head of my very handsome son in law).

Finding a sign of love walking the dogs.

What's making you smile today?

See ya!
