Friday late afternoon it started snowing here in Virginia -- and it snowed---and it snowed---and it snowed!
Saturday it was still snowing and the side woods looked like a winter wonderland.
I didn't do much decorating outside this year -- just a Christmas wreath, a garden flag and my mailbox cover --- but the snow helped make a pretty picture of a White Christmas.
Finally today the sun came out and I headed out to get the paper -- here's the mailbox in the snow.
I got new snow boots this year (just in time) and I noticed the snowflakes imprinted in the footprints.
Well come on in and warm up! Here's a look at my dining area -- this is where you see most of my inside pictures from my tablescapes -- but today we'll look around. This little table has a couple of snowbunnies and their Christmas tree,
Shelves above contain my Christmas tea set, a cookie plate, angels and an antique Christmas postcard with some holly sprinkled about.
My sideboard has the Christmas village my dad gave me a couple of years ago when he downsized. He loved this collection and now I enjoy putting it out at my home.
We have some pretty homes. Wouldn't I love that porch!

Look at this big house -- I'll bet someone is inside baking Christmas cookies while the children are trimming the tree.

My mother made gingerbread houses and decorated her sideboard with them.
I didn't make this one -- but it reminds me of hers -- this was purchased years ago at the Hallmark store where I worked. I put in an application one year to work part time for Christmas.....and ended up staying for eight and a half years.
This tray of Santa mugs and candle are on the kitchen counter. Care for some egg nog? My daughter used to call it "Christmas milk". Below you'll see some of the "faces of Santa" -- I have eight of them -- so take your pick, they're all different.
Well after all that egg nog -- perhaps you'd like to visit the necessary room.
It's hard to find pink Christmas towels -- these were found years ago at Bed Bath and Beyond.
The shelf above the towels -- I decorate this for winter and leave it just like this until Spring.

My Autumn angel now sits on an old desk with candles, magnolia leaves and holly.
Our stockings all hung by the chimney with care. The ones With the initials are our dogs. Spunky and Clapton -- it just so happened that when I hung them I realized that they would be Santas initials too! On the mantle is my nativity set. 
I took three pictures of the set because I couldn't get a close up of the whole scene.

Why, it must be playing a winter waltz -- our snow couple is dancing!
Aren't they so romantic as he dips her? I'll bet he's going to steal a kiss too....let's leave them to their romance.
This antique secretary is the perfect place to display the pictures of our children and grandchildren's pictures with Santa. There's also one of my husband and his sister when they were children. Santa's been listening to Christmas wishes for a long time!
I hope I'll get some new ones this year of the grandgirls.

This Hallmark ornament reminded me of our vacation in Florida this year. We often like to collect ornaments from places we've visited.
Years ago we went to San Francisco and I got to celebrate my birthday there -- it was late in June and the coldest I've ever been on my birthday! But it is a beautiful city.
We've spent several vacations in Charleston, SC. We're planning a trip again this Summer.
