Here we go!
Looks like we're in for some wild weather here in the Mid-Atlantic. Hoping everyone stays safe as Irene blows through. We're expecting the worst here in Virginia tomorrow evening. Hopefully by then Irene will have downgraded a bit. We're about two hours inland so we won't get the worst.....Prayers for all our coastal friends and family.
See ya! Be safe everybody!
Update Saturday morning: so far, so good. We are experiencing a rather gentle rain this morning. A little windy. Took our two very reluctant dogs for a walk this morning while it wasn't too bad -- knowing that there will be no walking this afternoon! We're predicted to get our worst here around 4 this afternoon. If we can keep our electricity I will be quite happy and grateful --- no "Pioneer Woman" here.
Update Sunday afternoon: We did ok. Never lost electricity more than a few minutes -- lucky us! Most people did. We did lose cable last night and it just came back up. Beautiful day today. Poor S-I-L works for the power company....he's very tired -- came in at 6 a.m. and had to back out at 2 p.m. It will be like this for a few days I guess.
Hope all my blogging friends from the east coast are doing well.

Glad you weathered the storm ok! My blogging partner daughter also lucked and the storm was milder than expected in NYC. Very pretty table by the way, if you get and chance stop by and see our fiestaware post. Thanks Mom from Cottage and Broome

I hope you stay safe, Martha. I will say a prayer for you. Stay indoors!...Christine
ReplyDeleteSuch a scary storm...I have to say that watching it with my daughter here at home was much better than watching it the couple of days before we got her out of New York. The funny thing is that she is on the hurricane team at Disney, so now that she is back in Orlando, they are watching this next storm very carefully. I'm glad it wasn't too bad for you!
ReplyDeleteSo glad things went ok there. So much destruction and just plain scary for so many folks.
ReplyDeleteMartha, you got hit and I got hit by Irene (we're safe) Where I live, New Kent County got the highest percentage of power outages in VA (if you divide # of outages into # of residents) & and we have a high water table. But I wouldn't live anywhere else - been that done that. We're safe and, as of today Friday, 80% of my county has power and water.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're OK Martha! I should have stopped by to check on you sooner.
ReplyDeleteHope you and yours have a safe, enjoyable weekend!
Bill
Hope all is still well at your house, Martha! These have been some booger storms!
