It's tablescape time again. We've been so hot here as have many of you. So, let's go to the beach to cool off.
Welcome to my surf, sand and shell table.
Come and join us.
Instead of napkin rings....we'll use napkin starfish.
A sheer aqua tablecloth layered over a white one.
A very simple centerpiece of starfish, shells, sand, tea lights and candle.
A closer peek.
White battenburg napkins on white Gibson dishes.
I found these etched iced tea glasses at Goodwill a few weeks ago. The coasters are just like ones my grandmother had and used with her iced tea spoons. These are a perfect resting place for the spoons after you've used them. My placemat/trays were ordered from Nell Hill last summer.
A closer look at the glasses -- there were only five...I guess that's why someone was getting rid of them. Ok by me!
I love this shell pitcher in the summer time.
Overviews of the table and centerpiece.
Hope you're finding great ways to stay cool this summer....perhaps some cool ocean breezes are blowing your way. I hope you'll find time to visit Susan at "Between Naps on the Porch" this week for many tablescapes of summertime inspiration.
Good night from the beach! (I wish)
See ya!

This is fabulous! I love everything about this tablescape, from the plates, shells for everything, shell pitcher, great centerpiece and place mats!! Very summery, Martha and you have such wonderful shell collection for decor!
ReplyDeleteLots of hugs. FABBY
My aunt had coasters like these...I've not seen them since I was a child! What a find!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, I can almost feel the sea breeze.
ReplyDeleteThose coasters are new too me. Very interesting and practical.
Please drop by my blog and check out my Bunny Hop Party that I will be hosting, starting in August.

I love the overhead view of it, so wonderful. The basket chargers give it just the right feel. The coasters with spoon rest are so useful. And your idea of a 'napkin starfish' made me smile, it is a great plate topper.
ReplyDeleteFAbulous Martha! I just adore your tealight holders and that beautiful jug!! You do this so very well! xxoo
ReplyDeleteHello:
ReplyDeletewhat great fun all of this is and so imaginatively and carefully thought out and co-ordinated. An absolutely splendid arrangement for a summer lunch party, and even more so by the sea.
So pretty! I really love the etched glasses you found and those cool AND functional coasters! The simple centerpiece speaks to me, too. Well done!
ReplyDeleteMartha, I think the heat wave inspired both of us! I love those coasters - my aunt used to have some just like them and I always loved the spoon rest built in! Thanks for a relaxing trip to the beach!

I love all the starfish on this table. What's really interesting to me is the way they are all so unique. Those etched glasses are wonderful too. I wish I could find something that pretty at our GW.

Hello, Miss Martha! I have never seen coasters with the spoon rest like that before. Cool!!! It makes so much sense! There's never a place to put the teaspoon after it has been used. Score!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen coasters with spoon rests either, but how practical. Love your summery, beachy tablescape. I especially love the starfish on top of the napkins. What time is lunch?
