Grand time with the Grands

We've had a busy and fun time playing with our Georgia grandgirls who came for a visit this week. They arrived in the middle of the night - really early morning on my birthday Monday. Since both girls share June with me as our birthday month we decided to celebrate together. We started the morning opening up presents. Stella turned 5 on the 6th....Molly turned 2 on the 25th.

One of Stella's gifts was a cookbook and the chef outfit to match.

Lunch at Whole Foods before we hit the Children's Museum.

So much to see....fish....

....a Pirate ship....

...a train to ride...

....making new friends....

....both girls enjoyed the puppet stage.....

....a bit of painting......

....riding a whale....

....water play...

.....sand play.....

....and "berry" picking....

After a family gathering for birthday cake and icecream....our big birthday bash ended with popcicles and new pjs.

The next day we stepped back in time with a visit to Colonial Williamsburg (I'll do a post some other pictures later)

Stella enjoyed the palace gardens.

A little snack break.

We enjoyed the tour of the Governor's palace.

And it's always fun to interact with the colonial actors in costume.

Cookie break on the steps.

Wednesday was perfect for a ride on "Poppa Daddy's" boat.

.....and playing on the beach..

Thursday we celebrated the 4th of July a little early and played with our twin cousins Kendall and Keelyn.

This is a shot that one of the twins took.

Nana and all the girls in our flag shirts.

This morning Stella and I worked on a little mosiac while her parents packed the van. All too soon, our fun time was up and they were headed back to Atlanta....we'll see them again this fall when we head that way....right now our house seems so quiet....we've had a grand time with the grands!

Happy 4th of July everyone!

See ya (this Nana is going to sleep in tomorrow!)
