Raise your hand if you got a sugar scuttle after seeing it on Susan's of Between Naps On The Porch? You know who you are! I fell in love at first sight and honey,I couldn't get on e-bay fast enough to look for one! It took me three bidding attempts to finally win one. So far, I haven't used it once for sugar, but it has had some Valentine's conversation hearts, and some white mints (for a snow themed luncheon) in it. It's been a great conversation piece - between "I've never seen one of these" to "I haven't seen one of these in years" to "I got one of these for a wedding gift 45 years ago and it's never been out of the box - but I've moved it 6 times!" (...what a shame not to give the cute little scuttle the love and attention it deserves!) How about you? Was it you I was bidding against?
See ya!
Hey girl...I love that little sugar thingy..I had never seen one before either until I seen it at Susan's...I love it and would love to get one but I don't own a single piece of silver in my house....wonder if they ever made them out of anything else? I need to look at Ebay more often! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by girl...that Sherry is a hoot & I just love her to pieces...but seriously..I'm not a dishaholic! lol Hope you have a great week!
I love your sugar scuttle. I received one as a wedding gift 50 years ago, and never put it on the table until I saw Susan's. Like you, I have used it for little mints (but I had it on the coffee table then). Since seeing Susan's I have used it on the table for sugar. Yours is so pretty. laurie
ReplyDeleteI love your sugar scuttle. I used to eye one in a tea shop and always said, "Next time I'm getting that!" Unfortunately, they went out of business. Glad you found one on ebay! :D Jewel
ReplyDeleteSilverplate only gets better with use. It's wonderful to see to re birth of vintage items!
ReplyDeleteYou were probably bidding against ME :}

ReplyDeleteMy coder is trying to persuade me to move
ReplyDeleteto .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of
the expenses. But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using WordPress
on a variety of websites for about a year and am concerned
about switching to another platform. I have
heard good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way
I can import all my wordpress posts into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
